Humming right along

I have had difficulty getting photos of these little girls.  They come at full speed, darting here and there and then finally stopping for a moment at my feeder.  Sometimes they will hover but most times, they will land and drink.  Occasionally, a couple of them will fight (in a hummingbird sort of flight-fight way) and dart about so fast I can't keep up.  I rarely see two at the feeder at the same time.  And I don't think I've seen the male of the species.

The last few days, my Butterfly Bush has opened up and they have been enjoying visits to it.

Speaking of butterflies ... I have seen no butterflies except for a little white one so far this season.  Is that normal?  Shouldn't I be seeing more?

This last photo wasn't the best, but I just wanted you to see her shimmering backside.  They are such exquisite little creatures.

Lastly, I'd like to thank ALL of you for your generous comments on yesterday's post.  Your comments were most humbling.

I'm linking up today with Outdoor Wednesday and Wordless Wednesday.  Go take a peek!

By the way, Rocky Squirrel will be making an appearance tomorrow, so until then friends ....
