A walk in the park ...

The other day instead of doing my daily walk (well ... almost daily ....), The Professor suggested I grab my camera and we do it in a much more scenic location.

Not far from where we live is Wissahickon Valley Park or Forbidden Drive,
so named because in the 1920s, cars were banned from it.
Nowadays, it's open to pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists.

It offers amazing walking and foliage viewing without leaving the city.

The creek itself flows through the entire heart of Fairmont Park.
It is a beautiful park with over 9,200 acres and has been called
"one of the largest urban parks in the country".

Needless to say, I spent more time taking pictures than I did walking!

The shot below is SOOC.  The afternoon light was reflecting
the golden trees upon the stream.
Made for a perfect shot ... well maybe a little blur there,
but you get my drift.

These fall days will soon be behind us.  With yesterday's winds,
many of my backyard golden leaves were stripped from
their branches.
As sad as I am to see them bare,
it does give me joy that
now I can see my feathered friends better!

Next week we will be traveling again.  I'm feeling a bit like Matt Lauer on The Today Show.
Instead of "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?"
it could be
"Where in the World is Reena?"

So, want to try guessing where we'll be?
Here's some clues:

You have to cross 42 bridges to get there
It has the 3rd largest coral reef in the world
The whole island is a bird sanctuary
All of the beach sand has been shipped in
The nearest Wal-Mart is 126 miles away
A Farewell to Arms was written there (this totally gives it away!)

Can't wait to share with you!
(And I'll make sure that that 'yocal' keeps the critters well supplied with food.)

Have a great weekend!
