Under the dogwood trees

yesterday you strolled
 in the park

under the
fragrant
dogwood trees
bursting in bloom

i watched
from a distance
the two of you

as you came to
rest upon a
carpet of white petals
soft as snow

her long dark arms
reached wide to you
impulsively

inviting

demanding

and there
under the dogwood trees

you kissed her
with the fire and tenderness
once reserved for us

my
heart
cracked wide open

forever

Sexy poetry! Love it. Not a lot of dogwoods on our property but lots of them within the neighborhood and they have been blooming like crazy this year! Enjoyed your writing today... :-))
