Some might say I'm a bit scrawny
or that my nose is too long
or my neck too thin
others may comment that my breast is too small
or my legs too knobby
and I suppose sometimes my walk may be a bit odd
I imagine I could let all that talk
put me a bit
off balance
But then ...
what does it matter
what others think
it only matters
what I
believe
to be
true
I am the Great Blue Heron

beyond all earthly matters.
