see,
the trees
stand exposed in the
dusk of our hour
beckoning me
to see beyond
the ache of an absence
yet to come
always
pillars of strength
they call out to me
their branches
dancing in harmony
was it only
yesterday that your laughter
echoed in the hallways
of my heart
as you placed
your hand in mine
innocently pulling me
towards a future
not to be
i must
release you
return you to that place
from where you once came
where the sky
is a fireball of foreverness
eternally
absent from my world
but alive in another
you will rise
in the sun and the moon and the stars
dancing in harmony
with my forest of trees

there is a heaviness to this one...a loss...the letting go...i often visit the trees to release what i need...this one though is heavy
I, too, feel a real heaviness in this one and a sense of loss and letting go -- Brian has said it well and they were my first thoughts as well! My thoughts are with you, Reena. Take care.
Brian & Sylvia, I know there is a heaviness to this post as there must be in the hearts of the town of Sandy Hook. It is where my thoughts have recently wandered.
Much emotion in words and images
I'm hopeful that you are not writing of a very personal loss....if not, it is a touching, beautiful tribute to the innocents of Sandy Hook Elementary.
Very moving. My heart is heavy too. I hope you have a peaceful holiday.
Like Evelyn said, I hope this is a response to Sandy Hook, and not something more personal.
Really beautiful words.
Emotional and powerful post.
Beautiful tribute and post. It has been a very sad time!
beautiful and timely post, thank you
you have a beautiful heart and soul
the trees know a lot about loss as do too many in Newtown
hugs dear lady

beautiful ...
Such a moving post -- we all feel this terrible loss.
Your words and images express it so well.
Incredibly lovely. Both the words and the images - so perfect together.
You are gifted, and we are the better for it. Your poems and photos always seem to have perfect pitch, even when there is a heavy heart.
Heavenly!
Perfect.
What a wonderful way to unload some of your thoughts. I love the yellow in the photos also.
How beautiful your words are Reena...Like you I often turn to nature for restoration when the worlds events are beyond enduring...
Beautiful words and beautiful photos.

Beautiful words of loss and strength. Gorgeous photos too.
Poignant, poetic tribute!
This speaks so beautifully of those little lost darlings. And the photos are just lovely.
Poignant and beautiful - especially in light of recent tragedy and unspeakable loss.

It is a post like this that help others in learning to grieve. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your Post of the Week.
Beautiful, Reena.
Poignant. Sad. This is how your words and pics make me feel.
Grieving for the souls of Sandy Hook.
Congrats on your POTW award.
Your photography is magical.
There is tremendous Grace here in how many hearts were touched by your words, including mine.
Tender and beautifully sad.
When I read this the first time around I thought I had commented with some ooos and Ahhhs on the photos and some thanks on the words. But obviously I had not. Congrats on your POTW.
