Dangers of Bird Photography

I always feel that when I am in Anna Maria, I am in paradise.  Blue skies, gentle breezes, white sandy beaches, and rolling waves that can lull you to sleep under the afternoon sun.

But even in paradise,
all is not always perfect.

I took the following series of photos of a teen pelican flying towards me.
I kept clicking away as he advanced and flew over.

Do you see the present he left behind as he flew over?

Bird Poo!!!!

Let's just say his shots were better than mine.
Fortunately, he missed my camera!
I can't say that about my clothes though.

I think he's pleased with himself.
What do you think?

Ah, that's somebody or other's law! Thought you might say he'd dive-bombed you off the jetty into the water though, so it could have been worse.

And you recorded it all! ;-) I have a friend who was riding in a car with a sun roof....a blue heron did the same to her. She said her face and eyes burned like crazy!

the trials and tribulations us photogs have to endure. just as long as the camera made it through safely...that's what really counts! and, hopefully it didn't get in your hair!

I knew what was coming! After seeing these pictures I can certainly believe that dinosaurs and birds were related.

He does look rather pleased with himself. I had a pigeon swoop down and poop on my head when I was in a busy town in Italy; the people around thought it was hilarious, me not so much. Great pictures, you are a dedicated photographer.

I apologize for giggling even though he must have left quite a mess:) This is why we have learned never to feed the seagulls at the beach or from the boat:)
