there was a time
when we played
in the meadows
of glory
you and i
we surfed and danced
in the summer breeze
and sang out our song
of love
solitary souls forever joined
we dived and feasted
throughout our days
unaware of the coming storm
darkening our horizon
can you see me
do you hear my cry
i call out to you
but my words echo
off the wall of hope
the winds have shifted
and i have been
left
behind

Amazing verse and thoughts. It reminded me of a pelican that stayed all winter guarding the corpse of its spouse two winters ago.
Very sad.
so very sad.
Hauntingly beautiful, Reena!
Lovely shots!!! Sad words, but beautiful too.
i feel the same way ... lovely words
Yes, sad, but so beautiful and such a lovely capture! Thank you for sharing, Reena! Have a beautiful weekend!

Beautiful words to go with that lovely shot.
Beautiful words, Reena, and such a perfect photograph to go with them.
this is so sad....the walls of hope is a cool turn of phrase, the coming storm...there is hard emotion in this....
very cool shot to go with it...smiles.
Beautiful words to accompany your beautiful photo, Reena! This verse would also fit the young osprey, too!
I hope these words just have to do with the photograph and not something personal. The words are so deep and moving. Beautiful photo.
A lovely pairing of words and photo.
Beautiful and sad. My kind of poem:)
beautiful shot. (:
A beautiful verse that is perfect for this time of the year. I watched birds this morning fly away, and I was feeling a little left behind too as I wished them safety on their journey ...
Wow, moving post.
"but my words echo
off the wall of hope "
Haunting words with a depth of feeling.
October does seem to be a melancoly time of year...these words are so fitting for it. Beautiul poem Reena!
You've made me cry, Reena.

Oh, my gosh on what Out on the prairie said. And Reena, this is wonderful.
Sad and helpless.
As this is part of the cycle.
That gave me the chills! Very beautiful though
Very heartfelt!
