Well, first of all, I want to thank all of you for your comments about the spots on my photo which, as I have come to learn through all of you, that I probably have dust/dirt on my sensor and I should get it cleaned. My Nikon D7000 comes with a clean sensor button, which I used, but, unfortunately, it did not clear the spots as I first had thought. So for the time being, since I can not BEAR the thought of parting with my camera, I might try a few of your suggestions to blow it away.
And now, on to more pleasant thoughts. The photo above was someone on the beach feeding the gulls. Usually not a good idea if you don't want to get pooped on!
These signs on the streets are new this season.
I'll post a couple of photos here ....
you judge for yourselves.
So, what do you think?
I don't think they could be accused of any false advertising!
There is a historical site that displays an original home, boat and water tower from the early days of Anna Maria Island. If you come here, it's worth your time to stop by and view its history.
Of course, I can't wrap up without adding a few birds shots.
This lovely egret was posing so beautifully on our neighbor's dock.
And because I'm still crushin' on the local pelicans,
here's a guy who was busy with his morning cleaning.
I was able to get within a few feet of him ...
Before he took notice of me ...
I think he threw a few choice words my way at the intrusion!
: : :
Again, I can't thank all of you enough for your comments and feedback
on my photo "spots".
I have learned so much through this community. You are the BEST!
Wishing you an awesome weekend!
As ever,

You don't need the sign to remind you that you're in paradise. Gorgeous!

Beautiful! Enjoyed my walk thru paradise with you. I know what you mean about parting with your camera. I couldn't do it either, but I know one day soon it will HAVE to be done. Enjoy your weekend!
P.a.r.a.d.i.s.e.! Why am I not there?
Have a great weekend! :)

Oh, paradise indeed!! I'd love to go there! Your fantastic captures are the next best thing to being there, though and I have SO enjoyed them! And the sunset! Such glorious way to end the day, any day! I love the pelicans and suspect you're right about what they are thinking!! So glad you've had such a beautiful trip, Reena! Thank you for sharing it with us! Enjoy your weekend!

You can't say, what is there about this place, when it lying there before me. Beautiful, and the birds, terrific.
Definite paradise!
Very cool photos! I like the 3rd one especially.
wow...these are stunning photos Reena..
Beautiful photos as always, and no, you are not doing any false advertising.
Whatever you did to these photos (besides take them!) I LOVE them!
Also, regarding the spots: They must not be too bad because I don't see them in all your photos.
Hi Reena...You could have left the new sign out...your photos tell us you are in paradise...lol !!
I love the first one and the dark sky and rough sea!!
Your crushin fella is fab and I could only tell in a couple of these that there was spots on the lens!!
Have fun : }

Hopped over from another blog, and I wouldn't have want to miss your pics for the world. The pelican's pis are amazing- I'm envious! My favorite though are the tracks in the sand -it has such a mood of timeless written on it:)
Gorgeous photos and scenes, Reena! I love the bids and the third shot is one of my favorites. Wonderful post, have a great weekend!
Great series. Nice composition on all. I really like the pelican photos. Guess it is time for me to take a trip out to the coast and search for one myself. Keep us posted on your spotty situation.
Beautiful scenes at the beach.
What an amazing sunset you took, so beautiful.
It really looks like Paradise! I love the shot of the wave patterns on the sand - and all the others.
Love your choices for textures on the first set and I fell in love with that gorgeous egret shot. Pelicans never fail to bring a smile to my face. Your captures are wonderful.
(I've got dust on my lens as well. No local camera stores anymore. Seems I may have to send it away. GAH!)
Yeah, that sign is redundant. Beautiful images of your paradise -- my fav is the textures in the sand! Enjoy and keep sharing!
The pattern in the sand is really neat!
Great images. I love the pelican.
We will drive to the beach close to St. Augustine tomorrow. Perhaps we will see some birds.
Absolutely no false advertising there. That does look like paradise.
Wonderful moody shots.
Beautiful, especially that egret photo, WOW!
Love the shots! Yes, we are on the way to find the sea near St. Augustine for a little while tomorrow. I hope we not only find some birds, but are able to take some pictures of them. :)
I'm glad you found out about the spots, it was a mystery to me. Yes, it IS Paradise, I especially love the sunset and the birds. Now I may have to go out and buy another frame with room for a third picture, I have seen them in the store!!! I'm hearing the Phil Collins song in my head now.
Congratulation!
You have found your paradise and fellow friends in there.
Your photos of different subjects, texture, and colors are stunningly beautiful.
There was once a paradise and I think you found the place.
Paradise it is!!! Beautiful photos--every one of them. You do such a great job capturing amazing and interesting things in your photos. Always fun to see your new "stuff". Have a great weekend, Reena. Mickie :)
Definitely looks like Paradise to me!
Stunning images!
100 percent agree we live in paradise and your little part of it, is much better than over here where we are, but we still consider we are living in paradise. the egret is stunning and i love all pelicans
hi reena, those are absolutely beautiful shots!
everything looks heavenly there.
a paradise for sure!
Thanks for the journey to paradise, love those skies and the sand looked warm to me. Beautiful bird shots especially that egret.
Gorgeous shots. I love the texture in that sand.. just beautiful.
Reena, don't worry about being without your camera for long. Phone around to some of the better camera stores and ask them if they do the sensor cleaning while you wait. Mine was ready in about a half hour. My other option was to send it into Canon and wait weeks and spend more... and not much recourse if they missed a spot or two.
Oh yes I can see that was another day in paradise :-)
All that's really left to say after looking at those pictures is WOW! Really nice and your pictures really inspire me. First time for me at your site and I plan on coming back more.
oh, your photos have
warm southern winds
blowing sweet through
my soul:)
thanks for this
little getaway,
Jennifer
i like the first bird with his scrunchy neck. (that's a technical term, of course.)
Oh my gosh! Just when I thought I hd found my favorite, there were more, just as great! The birds are wonderful, and I love #3 and #4 too. The gulls remind me of a time in Atlantic city when the gulls chashed a woman carrying a pizza (in a box) down the boardwalk. She dropped it. and the feast was on. What a scene that was...hehe
What a wonderful place... many thanks for sharing it with me...
Definitely not false advertising! Love everything about this post. Even the hints about the spots, b/c that's happened to me too before.
So you're still pouring it on us poor saps who are in winter weather! ;-) So much enjoyment looking at your photos!
Nope no false advertising there...this place looks gorgeous. Which is a nice escape through your lens on this cold winter day.^_^
You know that I think it is paradise! My daughter and I were just discussing today how lucky we were that my parents lived down there for part of the winters so we had a sure place to visit....Don't I wish they bought the house they rented! Have fun!
Simply gorgeous shots, Reena. I so love your processing.
Sorry about the spotty camera -- that's a big pain. Hope you are able to remedy the problem yourself. :)
I'm new to your blog, but the gorgeous photos and the name "Anna Maria" caught my eye. My nick name Ansku stands for Anna Maria, so it's nice to know there is an (paradise) island somewhere with my name (pretty far away, since I live in Finland).
I really love your photography! How did you edit the sea picture (the one below the "another day in paradise" photo)? It looks like HDR? Gorgeous colors!
Your photos made me smile. We went to visit my mom this weekend. We had the dog with us. I wanted to walk by the ocean. I kinda sorted remembered a place from when I was a kid. We drove and I saw a few cars parked. We drove there and parked. We ended up on the most wonderful path up on a cliff above the ocean. It was amazing :)
Your photos are fabulous my friend. I love them all.. And yes, It definitely looks like paradise to me..
Hugs, Linda
thats not a very tall water 'tower' and I would think with the 28-300 you'd not have to worry about how close you get...
Really nice photos! I simply LOVE pelicans. They are full of personality and are so cute!
Wow wow wow! Amazing shots.
If you have any tips that work about how to get rid of spots on the lens, then please let me know!
