I had a wonderful welcome home today
from a few of my friends.
We had been gone for so long I was afraid
they would have forgotten me.
But look who stopped by!
By mid-afternoon, the word must have gotten out
that I had returned.
At first,
there was only one robin.
Then there were two ...
... that ballooned into four ...
and then,
there was just a huge rockin' robin party going down!
"He rocks in the tree-top all a day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and a-singin' the song
All the little birds on J-Bird St.
Love to hear the robin goin' tweet tweet tweet

Love to hear the robin goin' tweet tweet tweet
Rockin' robin (tweet tweet tweet)
Rockin' robin (tweet tweet tweet)
Oh rockin' robin well you really gonna rock tonight"

I'd like to think they were celebrating
my return.
But, alas, I think they were just enjoying the fresh water.
Now I can't get that darn song out of my head!
As ever,

either way, the meet-up was kismet! :)
We saw robins appear by the dozens today! In the tree tops...all over the golf course! I took a few photos but none as beautiful as yours! Enjoy your week! ♥

My goodness, you've got lots of friends here Reena!
LOVE the second image here.
Just beautiful.
That is very cute. I'm sure they were celebrating.
A party to welcome you home--how nice! I'm amazed at the variety of birds that "showed up" at your door (I guess that would be birdbath). I'm not sure where all our birds have gone (perhaps if I would keep the birdfeeders filled that would help), but they are pretty few and far between right now. I'll bet it is nice to be home. Mickie :)
What a fine welcome home. :) Our robins appear to be wintering over again this year, too.
How wonderful to have so many sweet friends to greet you when you arrive home. Fun!

What a handsome bunch of friends there to welcome you home!! Terrific captures! Now I know what I'll be humming the rest of the evening! Hope your new year is off to a good start! Have a great weekend, Reena!

Man, they were thirsty! Great party!
if you put out food, they will come and they are oooohhhh so forgiving.
mine were mad at me for about 5 minutes, i put out peanuts and water and we also had a party!!
great captures!!
glad to see your bird friends were there to welcome you home :)
Wonderful welcome home!
I love the shot of all the birds on the ledge with the berries framing them. I filled all my feeders up and nary a bird has ventured into my yard in days. Lucky!
Hope 2012 is an amazing year for you!!
I'll have that song in my head all night now (lol).
Oh, those lyrics brought back memories! I actually danced to them! We have had an abundance of robins recently. I guess our warm temps have attracted them to stay a bit longer. We normally have a few in the spring and then they're gone but this year flocks are hanging around - I guess they found jaybird street!
I am sure that they are thrilled to have you back! They certainly look happy! Those robins look so pretty against the holly...
HI Reena...I just love your friends and the way you fixed them up to look special lol!!
Ya I am sure that song will be in my head to...

Those little guys look like they have been sneaking into the refrigerator at night, lol. I dont know how they can stand being out in the cold like they are, that's why I'm giving them a pass on their bird belly's. Richard
So sweet! The birds sure do brighten our lives.
I wonder what they were looking up at .. keeping an eye out for Mr Hawk I am thinking
Beautiful series, colors, and birds. :)
Oh look at all of those busy bodies saying hello to you! Love the vivid colors :)
beautiful little ones to welcome you home. i like Mr and Mrs Cardinal, so precious.
They are beautiful. I just wish and maybe can still make a bird cafe.
I have the odd bird come.

Your a bird lover also.
Happy Weekend.
You are great! I love this post. Robin is my brother's name. So, of course, he got the heck teased out of him with this song. Beautiful birds. Cheers!!
Now that was one fine feathered welcome home party.
I bet the resident house cat wasn't quite as welcoming. LOL
Hugs C
Wow, that's a whole lot of Robins. Sure looks like they were happy to see you. We have a woodpecker that keeps eating the suet I have out but I just can't seem to get a good photo.
Who could forget you I ask? Welcome home Reena. Margie

That was some welcome home bash they threw for you
It's better than the song that's been stuck in my head for the past several days. It's so bad I won't even tell you. Ok, if you really want to know, it's Dontcha by Pussycat Dolls. Send help.
Your little feathered friends were very happy to see you.
Wow, what a greeting! Beautiful job.
Gorgeous to see so many birds coming to your place. You host wonderful bird parties!

What great pictures. It looks just like a party. I like all those cute birds with quiffs - we don't have so many like that.
Nice shot of the Robins. I've been seeing big flocks in the mountain the last couple of weeks.
What a lovely reunion! I won't see a robin until March or April. :)
