Spring Break

It is spring break week for us.
Although today, I use the word 'spring' sparingly because another winter storm
is charging up throughout New England.
Right where we are!

The Professor and I retreated to Maine this week while many others flocked
to the sunny beaches of Florida.
I can't say that I wish I were on those sunny beaches.
I find my view here as delicious
as anywhere else I could be.

A few moments ago, an eagle was gliding high in the sky over our harbor.
And if you look closely in the above image,
you will notice the egret stand in the lower right hand side.
They will be coming back in a few weeks and begin preparing their nest.
Another cycle of life will begin.
Once again.
And another winter season will pass.
Once again.

It does look cold!!! But you're right, spring is on its way!! Just chilly here in the northwest, but GRAY and grim! I'm ready for some sunshine, too! Have a good day, Reena!

Oh, it is wonderful to be snug and warm inside while the snow swirls around outside. Enjoy your stay.

These are beautiful, Reena.
We thought the storm was going to miss us.
We were wrong, and it's still coming down.
Sure is pretty though. :-)

I need to read more carefully. I was looking for the egret standing on the lower right.. not the egret stand. I was about to give my egret regret. ;)

next week is spring break around here and with a high of 19 tomorrow and lows in the single digits, well, it is far from spring here in madison :(

Sorry you're in the path of more snow, but you've certainly captured the beauty! I think spring break in Oregon schools is next week, but this is Finals Week at the state universities. (I'm rather glad to be off that schedule, permanently!)

You echoed my thoughts exactly.

These are almost surreal. Sounds like everyone has some type of a storm coming. Makes me feel better that it isn't just NE.

Florida will look the same - this view will change soon so I don't blame you for wanting to stay and soak it up!

Hi there - very nice post. It seems that the seasons are a little off kilter all over the world. It should be autumn here - but summer keeps hanging on!
