Anna Maria City Pier |
~sigh~
All is well. The cat is fat and sassy. The backyard critters are also fat and sassy. The tomatoes are ripening, the bees are multiplying and the horses have returned to the pasture next door. (I know ... I never told you that they had left ... my backyard critters were kind of blog hogs.)
But I'm a bit melancholy.
Or forlorn.
For evening sunsets.
Lapping waves.
And beach buddies prancing on the white sugar sand at dusk.
Saluting the end of the day.
Sweet calls that float upon the breeze.
Simple pleasures.
Like beach sunsets.
Sprinkled into my life.
Make me smile.
~sigh~
Home only a day and I long to go back.
I'll recover. But it may take a few days.
In the meantime, you may have to put up with bird and beach pictures until then!

I love ALL of your pictures, Reena. Sometimes, I think vacas aren't worth it because I also become a bit melencoly after a really nice one.
Post away - I don't mind at all! My annual weekend at the coast with my girlfriends is coming up and even though I'm looking forward to it, I'm already a tad melancholy because I know it will be over so quickly. sigh.
I'd be sighing too. Beautiful pics.. one and all. Welcome home.
once again, those tern shots faced into the sun reminds me of the Nicolas Cage movie where the angels gather each day to watch the sunrise... :)
post vacation blues. at least you have these gorgeous photos to remember it by!
gorgeous beach bird pictures.. well all of them are gorgeous. sigh.
Oh, my goodness, girl!! That golden sunlight is just heavenly. And I like that analogy to the angels gathering to watch the sunrise.
They are all great, but the light you captured in the last two is stunning. I can't decide which one I like more, so I won't!
these are stunning captures!!!
No "putting up" involved. I am eager for all of the pictures that you can post. I think that more than half of the fun is the planning and dreaming that you do before. Then, you're there, and then, you're home, with your memories. The melancholy will, of course, go away. But, the memories? Ah, the memories will last a lifetime.
I am sure your backyard visitors will take your mind off missing your vacation and you have some lovely photos to remind you of it all.
Your photos are all fantastic!! Thanks for the visit!

Gosh...I just love those birds! I hope I get to see some this week. ;-)
Vacations are just never long enough.
:-(
Those are just amazing bird pictures. So pretty and peaceful.
And there they stay, watching the sunset. Great images.
Great shots and I loved the textures you used. You must have had to get down on your belly to go eye to eye with all those birds!
I won't mind looking at more of your pictures--They really are amazing, and I'm totally jealous! :-) Glad that all was well on your return!
Your photography astounds me!!!
All the reasons I love the beach, the coast, you've captured here, Reena! Fantastic! I do so understand your wanting to return!! Look forward to all the pics you care to share!! Hope you have a good week.

i'm so in love with the 4th photo ( 3rd bird )
looks like it was a wonderful trip :)
So does this mean that's the end of beach bird photos? Those are wonderful. I have yet to get any shorebird photos anywheres near as good as yours. Very nice.
The pier looks so peaceful, mom says she can hear the waves crashing in LOL

wonderful memories....awesome photo's!! i love it here!!!
Beautiful lighting in these shots; just beautiful! Bring on the beaches and birds, we probably won't see one ourselves this summer. (If we do, it won't be those beautiful, calm sandy beaches!)
The lighting on those all those terns is stunning . . .
Home already? Boy, time flys when your following someone else's vacation.
I can live with beach and bird shots when they are as stunning as these! Glad you had such a wonderful vacation.
Again, your pictures totally amaze and stun me, filling me with emotion. The birds, the light, they look like they are all lined up in amazement watching the sunset. And the first picture looks partly picture and partly drawing, like a work of art. It looks old fashioned in a way, like a postcard. It draws me in and makes me want to see more.
I'll happily put up with your beautiful bird and beach photos! Enjoy the afterglow of your time away!
welcome home... I am sure the
sea birds will miss you, but the
home critters must be deliriously
happy that you are back.
What marvellous memories and shots. That last photo is lovely - I can see the bird singing to you!
saluting is a good way of putting it. by the looks of some of those birds, i'd swear that they're just as enamored by sunsets on the beach as we humans are!
Gorgeous photos, I love the beach and the sunset and the birds. The next to last shot with all the terns is awesome. I can see why you miss the place.
Holidays are like that - lots of lovely memories - love your beautiful bird pics Reena.
Thank you for following my blog, the birds are great!
I will happily put up with the beach pictures and birds. They are amazing! Hope you settle back into the routine soon. Remember, there is always next summer.
keep them coming Reena, love beach and bird photos! Your words are wonderful! Really enjoy visiting here! You make me smile!
It's always so hard to leave the beach behind.
love the golden light on some of your captures.. its hard to come home after such a relaxing at the beach.. if I had my way.. I would camp out at a beach.. "smile"..
glad your home..and had such a wonderful time..
i almost fell off my chair when your post opened, I know you are in PA and thought that looks just like our pier, and it was. I live 15 minutes from that pier and have a couple of photos that are just like this one, one i took in the dark with just lights. My husband is from Perkasie PA which is close to you, but he came down here in 1970 so he considers himself a Floridian.
I hear you! Such a beautiful place to have to leave...
Such a wonderful variety of flying friends....I'm sure they kept a constant stream of conversation going.
Oh no .. not beach pictures .. not sun and sand and sunsets and and and ... bring it on!!!!!
I think it's always kind of hard to return after a wonderful vacation. :-(
These photographs are just beautiful Reena! I especially love the first one. What a wonderful perspective!
Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange.
Have a great day!
lisa.
No worries on the beach and bird photos! Bring 'em on! Glad you're back safe. Sorry it had to end. We will be going to the CA coast in 2 weeks for a mere 3 days and I already sense how quickly that will fly by.
No problem! The more, the better.
Maybe a beach house is in your future? :)
Reena...the first picture absolutely breathtaking...I can see why you are missing that little piece of heaven. As for beach and bird pics that is okey dokey with me.

I'm glad Kramer didn't lose any weight during your absence.

Oh, these are beautiful pictures! I can understand that you're wistful. I would be, too.
Wow, how beautiful. I am playing catchup and just viewed the last blog post with that georgeous sunset. WOW!
The heron though ~ was absolutely hilarious.
From these photos I can see why you want to go back.
Your bird photos are always amazing!!
Looks like all the shore birds are missing you too. ;)
These are all gorgeous but I really love the loudmouth in the last one!
These are absolutely stunning!
Great shots, love all the different birds you captured photos of! Love the one with long legs by the water. I actually really love the photo on your post above where the people scare the birds away. It's so dynamic!
What lovely reminders of your beach vacation!
wow all these are great. Thanks for sharing what lens you use.
