A leaf lingers a bit longer ...

Earlier this week, the temps dropped a bit and it was rainy.

Of course,
that did not stop any of my feathered friends from visiting.

I love watching them in the rain from the comfort of my office window.
They are all ruffled and disheveled but I have yet to capture some good photos
of how the water beads upon their body.

My little redbud tree outside my window has this one solitary leaf
still clinging to life.

Unwilling to give up its place within the world.

And why would it want to?

: : :

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
By the way, have I told you lately how much I enjoy your visits ...
as well as visiting your lovely blogs.
You are all so talented in so many different ways.
A magnificent collage of friends!
And only a keystroke away!

Reena, who needs leaves on the trees when you have such a colourful array of birds to decorate them?
That single leaf in it's last glory reminds me of a poignant story I once read of someone knowing that when the last leaf fell, they too would be no more.

Sorry I have not visited for a long time. The last two months have been rather harrowing with my sister's. ( 8Hr. train ride each way) brain tumour and my husband's dementia, there has been little time for aught else.

Such beautiful little visitors at your place. They do look a bit wet but not tucked in and hiding from the rain. I enjoy your blog and your visits:-) Have a nice weekend.

The birds are beautiful! And the last leaf reminds me of the O Henry story. I think that's the name of it, "The Last Leaf". ♥ I'll google it....here's a link to it...

What little troupers hanging on so valiantly in the pouring rain! I always feel sorry for wildlife out in the elements, but I guess they're used to it. Love the lone leaf still clinging to the tree. Hope you have a terrific weekend!

Oh, I do love the birdies! I don't think we have those in Minnesota. They don't look familiar...

I get all excited when I find some new thing to photograph, but it is the things right under our noses that bring the most joy. The first shot of the redbud with the squiggly branch is cool! Your words are very kind, it is a pleasure to visit with you!

It would be a little funny if that bird jumped on that branch where the last leaf was and it fell off. A nice post and i knew where you were taking it. Richard from Amish Stories
