Sometimes a reward is worth the risk!
Even to Dotti Dove who grows weary
eating remnants from the ground that are tossed aside
by the greedy Downeys and Chickadees and Red-bellies.
She decides to take action!
If I carefully fly over there and balance myself, I believe I can reach that feeder.
Made it!
And look at all that seed! Oh my goodness!
This is such a better way to eat. No grass pieces.
Whoops ...
Don't panic, don't panic ...
Just regain your balance girl ...
I can do this, I can do this ...
Just gotta refocus ...
Ohhhhhh noooooo, focus smocus, I'm slipping ....
Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all!
Whew! That was close!
Donald Dove plays it safe.
He just waits for the House Lady
to bring him food.

Stay cool my friends.
Temps will be reaching a 100 degrees in our neck of the woods!

I love your fun captures for the day and the captions to go with them! Delightful, Reena! Poor Dotti Dove is having a problem and, of course, Donald Dove just sits safely at home and watches!! How typical is that!! We're a LONG way from 100 degrees here in Seattle, but it is a lovely day! Enjoy and stay cool!

How fun to watch this off balance dance Dotti Dove was performing as she tried to feast from the feeder!
We are enjoying a very pleasant low humidity, sunny, 71 degrees with a bit of breeze...so welcome after having record breaking rains and massive flooding here the last few days!
My goodness, she is beautiful! The colors on her wings are exquisite! Great captures, Reena!
Dotti Dove must have been a ballerina in another life..she is quite graceful and has her wings in the most purrfect position...However, I think, if read her lips correctly, she said to say..."I wish this house lady would make me a nice bridge from the shaft to the feeders. MOL
OH BOY we have the hots too but I think you all are worse than us."
We are at 96 right now and

lol...too funny...he's down there checking his watch saying come on honey...smiles.
Funny! Doves are so clumsy, you would think they would be more graceful.
Funny, funny, funny. Brilliant images and hilarious.
O, I like your pictures from the Turkse tortelduif. And your story is lovely!
Absolutely delightful! You are very good at adding commentary to your beautiful bird photos!
too dang cute! :)
I've never seen our doves try to eat from a feeder they are always strutted away on the floor. You've got a smart one there. Love the extended wing shots, beautiful.
Wonderful views with the wings spread out. Nice you have an awkward feeding platform for the larger birds.
What a delightful series!
Adorable! I'm glad she did not get hurt :)
Hugs from Ohio,
I.
poor dove. But she really showed off her beautiful feathers due to that slippery slope. Thanks for sharing them. :)

What great pictures!! I hope you're doing well, and staying cool--It's hard to do that around here, that's for sure!! :-)
These guys make me smile. They can be a bit messy but they do try:) They especially like the bird bath outside and are the only ones who use it right now.
