Alaska, what adventure we had!
I could go on forever with various images of Alaska
but I'll end this series with two great glaciers we
had the honor of viewing.
Both part of the Harding Icefield which consists of 40 glaciers and covers
1,100 square miles.
We took a 30 minute hike out to Exit Glacier.
Very humbling.
The other awesome glacier we visited on our boat ride
was to the Aialik Glacier.
It was HUGE ....
... and as we came closer, the temperatures grew chillier
with all the ice that had calved into the sea.
And then, remarkably ...
we spotted some kayakers who had gotten out and walked
right up to the edge of the glacier.
Yikes!
Risk adverse me would NEVER be that close
out of fear of it crashing down upon me!
But that didn't happen to them and they worked their way
back to their kayaks.
So this is going to wrap up the Alaska series.
Alaska
It was expansive
humbling
and beautiful.
Hope you enjoyed your journey with me.
Now it's time to get back to
the birds!
Have a great weekend, my friends!

what a cool mural...and that ice pack is a feast of texture...def makes for some pretty amazing shots...
I have rarely felt so small as I felt when I was standing beside the Exit Glacier. The size is something that I believe must be experienced in person.
I admire your dedication for sorting and publishing so many of your Alaska photos. I'm bad ... I haven't touched mine yet.
Alaska is so Big, really big and everything in it is big. I love that last shot of the buildings. something stark about it that calls out to me. the glaziers are amazing and the mural is to
Majestic! Scary! But so pretty!
What an adventure :)
Enjoy your weekend, Reena!
Reading your final line, "Now it's time to get back to the birds!"
I have the feeling that the birds are as big as Alaska.
i like the whale mural, too!
Beautiful photographs, fantastic views, I like to admire such unusual places. I am greeting
Wowee, it looks like heaven gone wrong. Beautiful Alaska photos.

Thank you for sharing them ~
Uh huh. Just marvelous. (Big sigh)
Incredible beauty there. Hope to visit someday. I can't imagine how awe-struck you must've been around those glaciers.
I'm thrilled to see photos from your trips. Someday, we'll take a cruise to Alaska. We have several friends and family who have traveled up there and the photos they bring home are inspiring.
Fantastic captures of an awesome place, Reena, and inspiring indeed! Just looking at your pictures took my breath away!! Thanks for sharing the wonder!! Enjoy your weekend!
Remarkable finds, i would love to be up close like that.
That glacier is absolutely awesome! What a magnificently blessed person you are to have been so close to it. Someday, I would love to make that trip.
I so truly hope to get to the great state of Alaska. The Russians were foolish to sell it to us so cheap. But, then again, we were so foolish to steal it from the American Natives. Great pics. Cheers!!
it is beautiful. how exciting to be there and taking it all in. That mural is awesome
Awesome photos! Loved seeing the photos of your trip.
Oh, yeah - I like the whale mural!
What a magical place Reena ....a photographers delight.
I love the mural, Reena! And the glaciers are awesome. Alaska is a beautiful state. I enjoyed your post and photos. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Your photos are certainly awe-inspiring, Reena! "Humbling" is such a great description of such a place. I had some of those feelings when I visited Crater Lake. I've been to Alaska once, but didn't see anything but muskeg and parts of Ketchikan---many years ago. Your photography is beautiful, as always.
Amazing shots!
Wow!! it looks amazing :-)
Hi,
Really lovely photos of a landscape that is, I guess, quite difficult to capture. You've done it really nicely. My favourite photos are the 5th, 8th and last one.
Thank you for sharing this unique adventure.
Awena.
I so enjoy visiting places I've never been through your blog, Reena. Your photographs are wonderful. And those kayak people by the glacier, well that was just plain foolish.
I would truly love to go to Alaska, what a trip that you had! Richard
LOVE these photos. Makes me want to take a trip to Alaska.

so amazing .. so beautifully captured .. xo
Wow! Reena it looks fantastic... what a stunning place to visit.
I don't think I'd ever go on a "typical" big boat/islands cruise, but Alaska.... I'd so like to do that one day!!!
Were you happy with the cruise/boat that you chose?
A magical set of photos. I would sure love to go someday . We just might .
Its nice to travel. I love it.
No wonder you have over 2000 images, so much to see and photograph!! The glaciers look HUGE!
