This and that ...

It has been a beautiful weekend.
Might be one of the last really nice ones
before old man winter makes
his appearance.

~ sigh ~

A sweet highlight of the weekend was a fellow blogger friend,
came down to Philly and we spent
Saturday photo hunting.

If you haven't been over to Daryl's place, go here.
She's always sharing great photos and sites
from NYC.
As well as a some of her travels.

We navigated around the city, out to the Main Line and back
to wrap up the day with a nice glass of wine (or two)
and cheese before she boarded the
train back to NYC.

It was a very nice day.

Sunday
was spent giving attention to many neglected tasks
before we leave for Key West.
By the way, thank you for telling me of some new places
to visit while there.  Can't wait to check them out!

And lastly,
this little honey bee/yellow jacket (?) was munching away today on the nectar of one of my
STILL blooming plants.

I think he didn't get the memo about old man winter who's on his way.
Or maybe he's just ignoring him like me.

~ smile ~

: : :

I hope you had a great weekend and have an even better week!

Until tomorrow, my friends,

what fun to spend with your lovely blogger friend! we had a beautiful day here too in texas. :)

The last picture is great, but it doesn't looks anything like a honeybee to me. It looks like some kimd of wasp. It has a wasp waist and black wings like a paper wasp does.

It sounds like a very fun day for the two of you. That's a great thing about your part of the country, being able to get on a train and go somewhere for the day very easily.

I think that is a wasp.

I've been able to spend several days taking pictures with different blogging friends that were visiting in Seattle over the past couple of years! It's always such fun!! I know you both had a wonderful time! Love your shots and the mosaic is terrific! Sounds like it was a great weekend! Enjoy your time in Key West, Reena!! Look forward to your photos when your return!

Reena, Sounds like you had a wonderful day looking for great photo opportunities-- and you found plenty! We had a perfect day here in Kansas--sunshine, 65 degrees, no wind, and gorgeous fall trees all around. Key West--can you see me turning green (with envy, of course). Have a lovely time there--looking forward to great pics ( I'll be enjoying Key West vicariously). Mickie :)

It sounds like a perfect weekend! And you always take the best nature photos. I was on the phone with my sister just now and read the Rocky squirrel and chipmunk story to her over the phone! lol She had a good laugh. She loves feeding squirrels and birds, too! ♥

Can't believe you have plants that are still blooming! I'm afraid all of our blooms are long gone.

Have fun in Key West!

Key West????
Ok, it's like this...
I am really not very big, so if you have a spare corner in your suitcase.... :-) :-)
Sounds like a wonderful place to be headed for right now Reena. Travel safe, have a wonderful time, and take lots of photos!

Reena love your photo art, it's so beautiful, completed by your watermark.

The first photo/painting is beautiful. The yellow colors are especially beautiful. In this climate we would only see yellow/gold colors in the middle of a burnt up drought!

Such delicious shots! And wow - a wasp on such a lovely flower! Must be mild where you are...

There's snow everywhere here. So unfair. We went straight from summer to winter.

Hi there - the picture at the top is just splendid. I could try for hours with end and not get that sort of depth. What sort of materials did you use?

Looks like you guys had a nice day!! Nice to see the color of the flower this time of year.

I'm a little bummed because Sunday was supposed to be nice and I had hoped to go to Chestnut Hill. It was cloudy and I got wrapped up in painting the Laundry room.

Cool! You and Daryl had a chance to get together? I haven't had the pleasure yet, although she's one of my favorite on-line people. Someday soon, I'll have a chance to get to NYC and share a day with her (I hope.)

It was a gorgeous weekend here in RI too...and full of family activities. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a meet up with a blogging friend! Someday I hope to do just that! Love these photos of a gorgeous autumn weekend!

Not sure but that doesn't look like a bee to me. Your question about bee and memo had me go looking. One page I found about it told that the honeybee hive can maintain a 98 degree F in the nursery which is amazing.

Oh so lovely! LOVE your processing in that first shot ...... doens't get much better than a pathway lined with autumn trees :)
