Coast to coast

I don't know what it is about water
but I just love it
how it changes from day to day
even hour to hour

the rise and fall
ebb and flow
of its presence
charms me

as do the boats who
who dance and shimmer
on its surface

Yep.  Just can't get enough of this.

So .....with that said, over the next week, The Professor and I will be taking in a view of another coastline ... Seattle (for business) and then .... (drumroll) .... Alaska (for fun)!  I'm hoping to get some spectacular shots of all kinds of scenery and critters!

Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.  We've got a 9-hour boat tour planned off the southern coast of the Kenai Fjords National Park south of Anchorage.  Should be awesome!

 Of course,
there are other family members who could care less!
Huurrrmmmppphhh!

Your kitty is going to have a party when you all are out:) I always love new places to shoot. It's the excitment of not knowing what you'll see....especially when the critters are involved:) Some nights I can't even sleep because I get so excited! Have fun there. I will say that sailboats capture the imagination:)

Beautiful water and boat pictures, I was born near the ocean and still live near it, when I am away for any length of time something just doesn't seem right.
Hope the weather is perfect for your trip.

Been to Alaska some years ago...wait till you see a MOOSE walking along the highway:) Wonderful shots of the water and I loooove your family member who could care less...what a cutie!!

I, too, love being near water. Just about kind will do. Ocean, river, mountain stream, lake... I think I could do without little hot and fetid ponds with mosquitoes buzzing around and the possibility of a water mocassin crawling up my leg, but just about anywhere else is okee-dokee. One of my favorite "sit and ponder" places in the world is a little stream near my childhood home in Dorchester (a neighborhood of Boston) and I would go sit there and just stare at the softly-flowing water while whatever was on my mind worked itself out.

Have a great time! Give the cat some catnip.

Enjoy your trips. I'm sure you'll come back with some spectacular shots. My brother went to Alaska and he loved it
